Liechtenstein Casino and Card Room Gaming

In 2010, a law known as Geldspielgesetz (GSG) passed and lifted the ban on gambling and allowed the operation of official casinos. GSG came into effect in 2011 and serves as the main regulatory act of all gambling activities in Liechtenstein.

In April 2016, GSG was amended opening up the gambling market to more operators. The law introduced a license approval system instead of the initial concession system with all profits coming to the state from the gambling industry must be donated to various charitable projects and events. The Office of Economics supervises gambling in Liechtenstein.
